J&K's Covid-19 tally crosses 86K


Srinagar, Oct 15 (IANS): Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday reported 648 new Covid-19 cases, pushing the tally to 86,057 in the Union Territory, health officials said.

A statement issued by the Information and Public Relations department said that out of the 648 fresh infections, 268 are from Jammu division and 380 from Kashmir division.

As many as 75,641 people have recovered completely.

On Thursday, 1,323 patients were discharged from different hospitals of J&K after complete recovery.

Of these, 334 were from Jammu while 989 were discharged from hospitals in Kashmir division.

At least 1,358 people have died of Covid-19 in the region so far.

The number of active cases is 9,058 out of which 3,774 are from Jammu division and 5,284 from Kashmir division.
