Rs 1,168 cr funds released to Andhra rural local bodies


Amaravati, Oct 22 (IANS): Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj and Rural Development department released Rs 1,168 crore funds to rural local bodies to meet their expenditure.

"The finance department has issued budget release order for an amount of Rs 1,168 crore from the BE provision 2020-21 in relaxation of quarterly regulation order towards meeting the expenditure," ordered Principal Secretary Gopal Krishna Dwivedi.

The funds release comes under the 14th Finance Commission's grants to the rural local bodies.

Incidentally, the funds supposed to be released in 2019-20 were not released then and have been released now.

The Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Commissioner will take further action on devolving the funds.
