Mangalore: Man with Criminal Background Found Murdered in City

Mangalore, Apr 29: A person, who was allegedly involved with several criminal cases, was found to have been murdered near Matadakani Road within Barke Police limits in the city on Thursday April 29.
     
The murdered man has been identified as John Pinto, a resident of Mannagudda. He was involved with several cases including theft and robbery in the past, the policemen revealed.



Policemen of Barke station said that Pinto was found bleeding and lying by the side of the road with severe injuries on his body on Matadakani Road, during their night rounds at about 2.30 am. He was immediately admitted into the Wenlock Hospital and was declared dead at 3.20 am.

The deceased was found to have been hit indiscriminately with iron rods and wooden sticks. The policemen said that before slipping into unconsciousness, Pinto uttered the names of his assaulters as Charan, Vicky and five others.

What prompted his assaulters to take revenge against the deceased remains a mystery. A case has been registered in Barke police station. Investigations are on.
