Mangaluru, Oct 29: 'A birth date is a reminder to celebrate life as well as to update life'
It is a tradition to celebrate a birthday. A genuine birthday wish can truly make anyone’s day. Birthday celebrations are good for our health. Lourdes Central School under the guidance of their dynamic principal, Fr Robert D’Souza celebrated their manager, Fr Dr John Baptist Saldanha’s birthday on October 28, with a desire to wish him good health and longer life. The Bejai parish Parishad vice-president, Arun Pinto, Preethi Gomes, secretary and Fr Joy Vishwas Misquith were present.
The programme began with the choir invoking the choicest blessings from God on the manager. The principal wished Fr Dr John Baptist Saldanha good health and long life. He also appreciated the manager’s managerial skills and unflinching commitment towards the school and other activities. Vivita on behalf of the teaching and non-teaching staff wished birthday wishes to Fr Saldanha by appreciating his leadership qualities, discipline, simple living and multi-tasking abilities. She also appreciated the relation shared by him with the inter-religious people. The principal felicitated the manager with a shawl and a bouquet.
Fr Joy Vishwas was also felicitated on being ordained a priest.
The prize winners- teachers of Tips and Tricks for exams-subject enrichment were felicitated. Expressing his gratitude towards this unique birthday celebration Fr Saldanha requested the teachers to invest a lot of energy in their work, take responsibilities like opportunities, update themselves, work together, think anew, instill new values in their lives, teach children to be realistic in life, encourage them to take criticism in a positive way.
Lavina Serrao expressed her gratitude towards the manager for being present in spite of his busy schedule. The programme was compered by Flavia D’Cunha. The programme concluded with a get-together.
