Gujarat registers 875 more Covid cases, four deaths


Gandhinagar, Nov 3 (IANS): Gujarat on Monday saw 875 new coronavirus cases, taking its tally to 1,74,679, while the death toll climbed to 3,728 with four more succumbing.

The state, which had recorded 34,369 cases in October, has added 1,735 cases in the first two days of November.

A total of 1,004 patients were discharged, taking the total to 1,58,251, while there are 12,700 active cases, out of which 58 are critical.

Surat saw 206 new cases, Ahmedabad 177, Vadodara 110, Rajkot 42 and Jamnagar 32.

Gandhinagar followed with 30, Patan 23, Mehsana 21, Junagadh 20, Banaskantha 18, Bharuch and Panchmahals 16 each, Amreli, Anand, and Aravalli 14 each, Morbi, Surendranagar and Sabarkantha 13 each, Gir-Somnath and Kheda 10 each, Bhavnagar and Mahisagar nine each, Kutch eight, Rajkot, Navsari, and Porbandar six each, Dahod, Devbhumi Dwarka, and Narmada five each, Tapi and Chotta Udepur four each and Botad two.

Two deaths were reported from Ahmedabad, while one each died in Surat and Banaskantha.

The total number of deaths in Ahmedabad have reached 1,903, while 850 have died in Surat, 209 in Vadodara, 163 in Rajkot, 91 in Gandhinagar, and 67 in Bhavnagar.

Health authorities have so far conducted 61,57,811 RT-PCR tests, while 5,22,536 people are under quarantine.
