Heavy Rains Lash Kodagu

Madikeri, May 3 (DHNS): Kodagu received good rainfall on Sunday. Madikeri, Kushalnagar and surrounding areas too received heavy rains.

The rain proved to be a hurdle for the tourists who had come to Madikeri. When the CMC was making all preparations to supply water in tankers with the Kootuhole getting dried, the rains have brought smile on the faces of the citizens of Madikeri.

The pre-monsoon rains, that lashed, has changed the climate of the town. People, who were striving to beat the summer heat, had a sigh of relief as the temperature reduced considerably due to the rains.

The CMC had predicted that any delay in rainfall will affect the supply of water from the first week of May. However, with the rains lashing in and around Madikeri, the water-level at Kootuhole has gone up by 1.5 feet. Virajpet and Somwarpet taluks too have received good rainfall.
