Purnia, Nov 5: Bihar chief minister and JD(U) president Nitish Kumar on Thursday at an election rally in Purnia announced that the state Assembly polls would be his last elections.
"This is my last election," Kumar was heard saying at the rally.
Kumar, a three-time chief minister, has been criss-crossing the state which is due to vote in the third phase of the poll for 78 seats on November 7, mostly in Muslim-dominated Seemanchal (border) areas of northeast Bihar. The results for the elections will be announced on November 10.
Nitish Kumar's JD(U), an ally of the NDA, is up against Tejashwi Yadav-led 'mahagathbandhan' (Grand Alliance) comprising the Congress and CPI(ML).
While, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and JD(U) face the challenge of retaining their old seats, BJP will be looking to repeat the success of the 2010 elections.
