Wanted criminal with Rs 25K bounty held in Gurugram


Gurugram, Nov 11 (IANS): A wanted criminal who was carrying a bounty of Rs 25,000 was arrested by the Gurugram police following a tip-off from Iffco Chowk, officials said on Wednesday.

The arrested miscreant was identified as Praveen Kumar alias Panna (24) of village Kankrola in Gurugram.

According to the police, Kumar was involved in cases of murder, loot and snatching registered against him at different police station in Gurugram.

"Praveen along with his accomplices Raghu and Rohit alias Lambu of Kankrola village, had snatched a Maruti Swift car from a car dealer earlier on June 15. In this incident the police had arrested Raghu as he had sustained a bullet injury during a scuffle with the car owner. He was arrested from Safdarjung hospital after discharge on June 19," Subhash Boken, spokesperson of the Gurugram police said.

"Rohit was eliminated on Tuesday during an encounter while Praveen was on run since then. In connection with the car snatching case the Gurugram police had announced a reward of Rs 25,000 on his head," Boken said.

A case was registered against the alleged criminals at Pataudi police station under relevant sections of the IPC.
