Mumbai, Sep 2: R Madhavan-starrer biographical drama ‘GDN’ is set to make its digital debut on Netflix on September 4, following its theatrical release. The film will be available in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada, taking the inspiring story of renowned Tamil Nadu inventor GD Naidu to audiences across India.
Netflix announced the OTT premiere with the line, “Oru manushan oda vaazhkai indha naatu oda varalaaru” (A man's life is the history of this country), underlining the significance of GD Naidu’s contribution and the story portrayed in the film.

Directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar, ‘GDN’ follows the life and journey of GD Naidu, who pursued his passion for innovation despite facing resistance and repeated obstacles from those in positions of power. His determination to continue developing new ideas forms the central theme of the biographical drama.
Madhavan plays the titular role and has also produced the film along with his wife Sarita Madhavan. The project marks another biographical venture for the actor following his acclaimed 2022 film ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’.
The film features an ensemble cast including Sathyaraj, Jayaram, Thambi Ramaiah, Priyamani and Dushara Vijayan in key roles.
‘GDN’ hit theatres on August 7 alongside Arun Matheswaran’s ‘DC’, starring Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi. However, the film had a modest theatrical run, reportedly earning around Rs 6.32 crore worldwide, according to trade estimates cited by Sacnilk.
With its Netflix premiere, ‘GDN’ is now set for a wider digital reach and could attract renewed attention to the remarkable life and achievements of GD Naidu, whose pioneering work remains the focal point of the film.
