Yogi's Diwali gift hamper showcases ODOP scheme

Lucknow, Nov 11 (IANS): President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu, Union ministers and BJP President J.P. Nadda are among those select VIPs who will receive a special Diwali gift hamper from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The specially curated gift hamper showcases the 'One District One Product' (ODOP) scheme of the Uttar Pradesh government.

The woven basket from Prayagraj contains terracotta idols of Ganesh and Laxmi from Gorakhpur, a silk stole from Varanasi, a chikan-work kurta from Lucknow, a packet of 'kala namak' variety rice from Siddhartha Nagar, jaggery from Muzaffarnagar, a decorative item showcasing the wooden craft of Saharanpur, perfume from Kannauj, amla candy from Pratapgarh and brass bowl from Moradabad.

The idea behind the gift hamper is to make people aware of the various products made in Uttar Pradesh and increase the popularity of the ODOP scheme with such gifts," said a government spokesman.
