Kerala BJP alleges secret pact between CPI-M, Congress

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 13 (IANS): State BJP president K.Surendran on Friday alleged that the ruling CPI-M led Vijayan government and Ramesh Chennithala-led Congress have entered a 'secret pact' as the top leaders of both the parties are caught in various cases.

"The top leaders of these parties are now caught in various cases and a secret pact has emerged so as to ensure that all cases are kept under wraps, which will enable their leaders to go scot free," said Surendran.

The Vijayan government is facing cases like the gold smuggling and the 'Life Mission'. The partners in the Left front led government -- the Indian Union Muslim League's three legislators are in trouble -- M.C. Kamaruddin is in jail, the Enforcement Directorate has been questioning K.M. Shaji and former State Minister V.K. Ebrahim Kunju.

The 2015 Solar scam, which involves the Congress leaders, also has been lately again coming in the news.

"Senior IUML member P.K. Kunhalikutty (Lok Sabha MP) is the man behind striking the deal for settling all the cases, as it is going to be mutually beneficial for both the Left and the Congress," added Surendran.

He also said the upcoming local body polls will see the BJP emerge as the biggest gainer.

"At the last local body poll, the BJP missed ruling the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation by a whisker. This time we are handing over the charge to our most popular leader in the state capital city, V.V. Rajesh, who will contest the polls," added Surendran.

Rajesh is presently the Thiruvananthapuram district BJP president and had unsuccessfully contested the 2016 Assembly polls from the district.
