Doha: First-ever Kundapur Meet at Doha Held

Doha, May 9: The first ever gathering of people hailing from Kundapur region was held at Doha Compound on Saturday on May 7 with more than 135 members taking active part in it.
Master of the ceremony for the day, Chaitali Shetty welcomed the gathered audience. While doing the welcome address Deepak Shetty appreciated the huge turn-out of members in such a short notice and mentioned the efforts of Darshan Shetty and Prakash Shriyan in making the event possible. He also high-lighted the importance of helping people in need on case to case basis haling from the region and also to provide platform for group members to show their talent in cultural field. He also requested members not to forget the language, place and the family we belong to.
Introduction of members were held thereafter and each and every member introduced himself and his family members to the others.
Games for kids were conducted by Akshata Hegde and for adults were conducted by Chaitali Shetty. Members took active part in all the games conducted through out the day.
Delicious lunch was served to the members. After the lunch break group photo was taken and young children showed their dancing skills by dancing to few hit numbers.
An interactive open forum was held thereafter and many members gave their suggestion on how to proceed with the future activities of the group. Ramesh N M, Anand K and Amarnath Shetty spoke to the audience and gave their valuable advice on keeping the momentum going. Co-ordination committee comprising Anand K, Zafar Abbasi, Pallavi, Francis, Surendra, Sujith, Anup Shetty, Kiran Oliver, Ramesh N M, Kannika Shetty, Prakash Shriyan, Darshan Shetty, Chaitali Shetty, Akshata Hegde and Manas Shetty was formed.
Gifts were distributed to winners by Francis, Renuka Poojari, Amarnath Shetty and Delphine D’Souza. Deepak Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.
