New Delhi, May 11 (IANS) Daisy Irani, well-known child artist of 1950s-60s who has teamed up with children in her forthcoming movie "Vroom", says she enjoyed working with kids but is keen to play Aamir Khan's grandmother and Shah Rukh Khan's mother on screen.
"I want to play Aamir's grandmother. He is my favourite. And if I get a chance to act in a Shah Rukh starrer, I would like to play his mother," Daisy, 58, told IANS in an interview.
Directed by Savin Tuscano and produced by Fox TV Studios for STAR Box Office, "Vroom", about a car with artificial intelligence, is releasing Friday. The film also stars Paintal, comedian Naveen Prabhakar and newcomers Gaurav Bajaj and Nina Sarkar.
Talking about her role in the movie, she said: "I am playing a Parsi lady who is a neighbour of lead actor Gaurav Bajaj. She interferes in other people's business. It was fun working in the movie as I liked my role and enjoyed it. Children will enjoy it because it is a blend of adventure, fantasy, special effects and humour."
Asked that once a child artist herself, how did she feel working with children, Daisy said: "I love children and working in a film which is for them was a great experience. I have come a long way, played characters from a little girl to a grandmother, I have played most of the colours of a woman and it feels good."
Daisy entered showbiz when she was just three years old - her first film was the 1955 movie "Bandish". She appeared as a child artist in movies like Raj Kapoor's "Jagte Raho", Ashok Kumar-Meena Kumari starrer "Ek Hi Raasta", Dilip Kumar-starrer "Naya Daur" and many others. In 1965, she features as a full-fledged actress in Rajendra Kumar and Sadhna starrer "Arzoo".
Content with her journey in cinema for over five decades, Daisy said: "I am really happy with the work I have done in so many years. Though the journey was tough, it was a nice experience. Everyone has ups and downs in their life and I am no exception. But I am satisfied and will never look back and say that I should have done that role."
