Mangaluru: Bus conductor does everything he could to save passenger's life

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Nov 21: A bus conductor found that a passenger of the private bus for which he works had become very sick. He stopped working, got the passenger admitted into a hospital and did his best to save the passenger's life.

Ganesh, conductor of Surathkal-based 'Shaan' bus, was on duty on the bus moving on Bajpe Kaikamba route on November 16. A person identified as Rajesh Chauhan (40) from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh was travelling by his bus. When the bus approached Katipalla, Chauhan became very sick all of a sudden and collapsed. Ganesh immediately handed over the ticket collection work to the bus driver, and took the ill passenger to a private hospital at Surathkal. As his health condition was serious, he was advised by the doctors to take him to a hospital at Mangaluru. He therefore brought him in an ambulance at his own expense to Wenlock Hospital here. But Rajesh Chauhan died without responding to treatment. The doctors said that the patient had suffered a massive heart attack.

Ganesh

Rajesh was working as a daily wager in industry in Mangaluru. Mostly, he travelled by this bus. On the basis of the ID card found in his pocket, his identity could be established. His relatives at Varanasi were informed and they have since arrived at Surathkal. The body was sent through an ambulance.

Ganesh filed report in Suratkal police station about the development. Suratkal station house officer I Chandrappa and other staff congratulated Ganesh for his selfless service.

Ganesh said he served the passenger on humanitarian grounds and that he was not aware that he had suffered heart attack. He said if it was known, first aid could have been administered. He said he is sad that even after treatment, the passenger's life could not be saved.

May the almighty bless Conductor Ganesh for his selfless service, this is the India we all want to live in, service above self , no caste , creed, religion, name, fame attached. In contrast we have many Politicians who spew hatred and venom in their speeches, some famously saying communities can be identified by their dress, what we need is not speeches but good deeds and communal harmony like Mr, Ganesh.

This is an eye opener for everyone who treat bus drivers and conductors like filth. Please note that though there may have been other passengers in the bus, it was the conductor who went out of his way to help.

    Cynthia,
These officials are dancing as per their Superiors. So the music is played by higher authority, and stage is shared by officials under them. This is for your information

We must salute this man. He was on duty, still he tried to help the sick person unknowingly his religion, caste, creed etc. Last year I saw when sick person was in ambulance but one if our politicians did not leave place to move that ambulance.
When the reporters asked the behavior of this politicians he told that public must adjust that when he is moving then no one got right to overtake him.

Helping people still exist in our society. Otherwise I had seen during my travel in bus, conductor scolding passengers if anybody make some delay while getting down due to weakness, old age or sickness.
I appreciate the behaviour of conductor Mr. Ganesh. God bless you.

because of abject poverty in UP, UP prefer to live miserable lives in far off states... bimaru state (ರೋಗಿ state)...

however RIP to poor man who died in poverty, loneliness, misery...

kudos to the bus conductor who took care of the man in his last moments...
