Udupi, Nov 26: As support to the All India general strike that was called by labour unions, a protest was also held in the city, against the anti-labor, anti-farmer and anti-people policies of the central government.

Addressing the protesters, chief secretary of LIC employees' association, Prabhakara B Kunder said, "The union government is ready to sell LIC which is goddess Laxmi of India. Now they do not even have its count. They have resorted to selling goddess Dhanalaxmi of this country. LIC, which was formed with a capital of Rs five crore is worth Rs 32 lac crore. The public knows the service of LIC."
