Udupi: Fire tragedy at Duglipadavu - Youngsters timely action saves assets

Udupi, Dec 1: During the late night hours on Monday November 30, fire started raging at Duglipadavu near Manipal. Two young men showed grit and presence of mind to save possible loss of lives and property.

At about 10.30 pm on Monday, flames started leaping from Duglipadavu on Manipal-Alevoor road. This is a residential area with considerable population. Jalesh Shetty from Alevoor and Naveen Serigar from Kukkikatte who were moving on that road in their motorbike, sighted the fire, immediately called the fire brigade, awakened the sleeping locals and helped in dousing the flames.

The locals confessed that but for the timely help by these two young men, loss from fire would have been manifold.
