Tumakuru, Dec 2: A groom who travelled to his marriage venue in a helicopter kicked up lot of interest among the people. Video of the scene has become viral in the social media.
Normally grooms ride cars or horses to the marriage. There have been examples of grooms choosing to travel by camels also. Niroop, son of entrepreneur from Tumakuru, Balaram Shetty and Ramadevi couple travelled from Tumakuru to the BRS Grande Kalyana Mantap at Talaghattapura in Bengaluru along with family members by a rented helicopter. It is learnt that proper arrangement for the landing of the helicopter near the hall was made in advance.
Niroop married Aishwarya at BRS Grande Kalyana Mantap. It is said that to ensure that the attendance at the marriage was bare minimum because of fear of the Covid, the family rented a helicopter and only a handful of people travelled to the marriage hall.
Balaram Shetty operates several industries including rice mill. As per the wishes of his son, he arranged for a helicopter to reach the Kalyana Mantap. However, there have also been criticisms about the family members having travelled by helicopter without wearing masks and not maintaining social distance. Groom Niroop uploaded the video of the travel in the social media. Many have appreciated the same while a few have come up with criticisms.
Balaram Shetty said that there were no specific plans how to travel to the marriage till some days before the marriage. He said that after the idea struck, his son decided to travel by helicopter and the family was happy to abide by his son's wishes.
