Bengaluru, Dec 4: For the bandh call given by various organisations in protest against the setting up of Maratha Development Corporation, several organizations have only expressed moral support.

Karnataka Auto Rickshaw Drivers' Association, Karnataka Private Transporters Association, KSRTC employees and staff cooperative society, Hotel Owners Association, Karnataka Navanirmana Sene and other organizations have refused to take part in the bandh. As such, on Saturday December 5, there will not be any disturbance in the services of transport and hotels. Shops and establishments in the city will be open.

Karnataka Auto Rickshaw Drivers' Association general secretary, C N Srinivas felt that with the setting up of language and caste-based corporations, in the coming days, more demands will crop up for corporations for various castes religions and languages. He said that therefore, moral support will be given to the bandh call but the three-wheelers will move about normally.

Hotel Owners Association president P C Rao said that the hotels will function as usual as the industry is in deep loss due to lockdown.

Karnataka Navanirmana Sene secretary Bheemashankar Patil said that the Sene will not support the bandh call as the corporation is meant for the development of a community like a number of other communities in the state and there is no harm if a separate corporation is set up for them.
