Kasargod: Well collapses while cleaning - One dies, two survive miraculously

Kasargod, Dec 9: In a tragic incident that occurred at Mannanguli of Uppala in the district on the afternoon of Wednesday, December 9, one person died and two escaped miraculously, when the wall of well they were cleaning collapsed.

The deceased is identified as Nisar (28), a native of H S Palya in the district of Chithradurga. His co-workers Mukhtar (28) and Manjanna (50) escaped from death miraculously.

The trio were cleaning the well of a private individual near the Mannanguli, when one portion of the well collapsed and Nisar got stuck in the heap of collapsed mud. Mukhtar and Manjanna got down into the well to rescue Nisar. However, as more mud collapsed on them, all the three got stuck inside the well.

The fire service vehicle which arrived from Uppala rescued all the three who were stuck inside the well. However, Nisar, though shifted to Uppala hospital could not be saved.
