Mangaluru, Dec 10: A truck driver's presence of mind averted a major fire tragedy after a cooking gas leaked from a cylinder while transporting LPG cylinders on a truck.

The incident was reported at Thokkottu on National Highway 66, near over bridge in the afternoon on Thursday December 10.

The truck driver was carrying LPG cylinders from Baikamapady towards Kerala. Fortunately, when the driver stopped the truck to check the cylinders, the incident came to light.

Immediately, he informed the matter to the police department and fire and emergency services.

Officers of fire and emergency services rushed to the spot, secured the cylinder and prevented further gas leakage from the said cylinder.

Traffic jam prevailed on NH66, as the police department officers restricted vehicular movements for several minutes.

Instead of building a new Parliament building and statutes, the country should have good quality motorable roads. The leak in a cylinder might be caused because of bad roads.

Even if something major happens like it did at Beltangady or Puttur, I dont remember the place, a few years ago, it should not be a big issue as third world countries do not care such things.

The population is too much and the total administration is corrupted.

Now please do not point fingers at my community when it comes to population. In the villages of UP, MP, Bihar, Rajasthan there are as many children to couples as we have.

    Jai ho..Let us bajao ganti.

    Dear Bayamma,

It seems your brain is not working sharply. Eat less pork..

The point I was saying is that even if such disasters happen every now and then, the administration does not take action because it is corrupt and in third world countries life of human beings is cheap.

If some accident happens in Germany, where you live as per your address mentioned, will the traffic police not analyse why it happened and take corrective action if it is pertaining to road divider or u turns etc. Such thing is missing in India.

Hope you got the point now. I have lived in Dubai for years and have seen how the police take action after an accident or incident.

Eat less dukramaas..you will be alright.
