Sullia, Dec 10: Garbage pile had been heaped in front of the town panchayat for long. This measure had also resulted in controversy. Now, the new administration which has taken over charge, has set into motion the process of clearing the waste here.

The spot in front of the town panchayat here had turned into the dumping yard of the town from the last two years. Now there are hopes of this area getting rid of the garbage. The garbage which had been heaped in the building opposite the town panchayat office and also in the backside were giving out terrible stench and the entire area had become filthy.

Now, the plastic waste that has been sorted in the first stage, is being transported to Kallarpe. The wet waste is being taken to manufacture manure. This work will be continued. The local administration wants to sort out plastic bottles, cardboard etc and put them for reuse.

The plastic waste will be compressed to reduce its quantum and then attempt will be made to sell them.
