Bengaluru: 'CM directly responsible for conflict between schools, parents' - Siddaramaiah

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Dec 20: Opposition leader and former chief minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday December 20 launched an attack on the BJP-ruled state goverment over education policies amid the pandemic and said that chief minister B S Yediyurappa and education minister Suresh Kumar were 'directly responsible' for the 'crisis' facing students and parents.

In a series of tweets, Siddaramaiah said, "Confused decisions of @CMofKarnataka & Education department has left students, their parents and private education institutions in no man's land. Yediyurappa & Suresh Kumar should interfere and resolve the issue at the earliest."

"@CMofKarnataka & education minister @nimmasuresh are directly responsible for the conflict between parents & private education institutions. The govt is trying to hide its gross mismanagement by creating rift between parents & institutions (sic).

"There is no govt's control over private education institutions. Schools are forcing parents to pay complete school fee and threatening to stop online classes if it is not paid. But the govt is silent on the issue (sic)," he said.

He further tweeted that BJP was in collusion with private schools in fleecing parents. "Schools are charging even extra curricular fees on top of teaching fees. This is an additional burden on parents. @BJP4Karnataka is hand in gloves with the institutions (sic).

"Series of meeting by govt about reopening schools had created confusion and panic among parents. Education minister @nimmasuresh should conduct meeting with both parents and management in a transparent way & resolve the issue at the earliest (sic)," he said.

Schools and colleges in the state will be reopening for students of classes 10 and 12 from January 1, 2021, and so also Vidhyagama sessions for students of classes 6 to 9.

Although it is political vendetta and with some vested interest and motive behind this statement is desperate attempt to stay in news, partially I agree with Ex-CM Siddaramaya's above statement.
Because decision of our current honourable CM and Education minister is totally confusing putting the parents totally in quandary besides being demanding for heavy and hefty fees from the parents.
Also some education institutions are threatening the parents by saying online classes are immediately closed if the fees are not paid. How cruel mind administers are?.Many people have lost their jobs and struggling for their survival and to meet the both ends together. Some people have even committed suicides, though it is not the solution for their economic turmoil.
But education institutions are insisting to pay the fees without any sympathy, courtesy or at least humanity.Which is very bad to digest.Government also can't even take any bold decision of their own, closed their eyes and watching the fun like mute spectator as if government is having a hand in gloves with private education institutions.
