Udupi, Dec 20: The late Pejawar Sri Vishweshateertha Sripada had visited Dalit colonies with the mission to eradicate untouchability in the Hindu society. Now his disciple Sri Vishwaprasannateertha Swamiji has followed in his teacher's footsteps.
On Sunday, December 20 he visited the colony of Dalits at Palekatte of Kodavoor village here.
He visited the Dalit colony which has around 120 houses and instilled confidence in around 400 people.
Local municipal councillor and RSS activist Vijay Poojary and social worker Vasudeva Bhat Perampalli had informed the people in the colony about the visit of Swamiji two days ago. Accordingly, the residents welcomed the Swamiji with community bhajans and the roads were also decorated.
The Swamiji visited three houses of the colony and taught them Sri Rama Jaya Rama Jaya Jaya Rama chanting and asked them to chant the same daily. The inmates of the house offered swamiji flowers and fruits as a mark of respect. Later Swamiji visited Mookambika Bhajan mandir of the colony and lighted the lamp.
Speaking to the residents, Swamiji said, "We want the participation of all the Hindus in the construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya accordingly we are visiting all the places and have come here also. In order for this to happen we have to chant the Ram mantra everyday. Everyone has to inculcate the ideals of Ram in his or her life and strive for the betterment of the society."
"Keeping the construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya ahead of us, we have to strengthen the HIndu society in India," Swamiji said on the occasion.
He distributed laddus to all the residents. Vijaya Poojary said that the oath taken by Vishwaprasanna Theertha swamiji to carry forward the plans of late Vishwesha teertha swamiji is really laudable.
