Mangaluru: Night curfew - Business fraternity expresses concern

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Dec 24: The district administration is making all preparations to get set for the night curfew that will be imposed from 11 pm to 5 am from December 24 till January 2.

Business, which collapsed totally due to coronavirus pandemic lockdown, had shown some progress in the past two or three months. Activity in the market had increased due to the Christmas festival. However, due to the introduction of night curfew, the traders are concerned that the business might get affected again.

As the government announced nine days of night curfew on Wednesday, December 23, public, traders and passengers expressed their disappointment. Many were seen showing their anger on the action of the government.

Many celebrations are planned in various religious places in the district. Out of this, some run overnight. But due to night curfew, these rituals will not take place now. Night curfew has dampened the spirits of those who had planned to welcome the New Year in a grand manner.

    @ Nancy,

Curfew will be imposed from 11.00 PM to 5.00 AM. In that case people who are found walking or in vehicles driving will surely charged for breaking curfew rules. Option left either beak the party before 10 pm OR continue silent party without Hifi and loud music drinks and food your choice and continue till 5 AM. That follows morning tea and breakfast too. (I cannot Join) All the best.

Good, night curfew because travelling on Mangalore roads is difficult during the day then you can imagine what will be the situation in the night. The situation on Mangalore roads are bad, all main roads and residential roads are in a pathetic condition. God save us.

Very good and cautious measures adopted the authorities.
It is not necessary that people should get drunk in the name of events and cross all health and social distancing measure. Prayers and religious congregation is ones right but not prolonging beyond 11.00 PM.
Those who wish can have indoor get together at their residence with close fly members and limited well wishes. Time & situation is not favourable so people should be bound by rules and administrative protocol. Those days in 70-80's things were not adverse and youngsters could spend whole night merry making (not in clubs or hotels) in ones own compound.. Second day bear the bad effect of hangover and acidity problem

Flavian... Good comment... I agree attending the religious activities should be our prime motto... And there's no objection from the government. Rest of the things can be done at their own houses.... If we fall the safety measures it's good for us only.. Flavian... All set for Christmas... Wish you and everyone a Merry Christmas. May almighty shower his choicest blessings upon everyone...

Life comes only once festival and enjoyment can be celebrated any time think of the pandemic which has made us lose or near and dear ones. Think of the people who have gone through COVID. The front warriors are still battling this disease so it is better to be safe and be precautios so no effect increases.
