K'taka election commission issues guidelines for broadcasting gram panchayat results on TV

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (EP)

Bengaluru, Dec 30: The Karnataka state election commission has issued certain guidelines required to be followed while broadcasting election results on television.

The secretary of the state election commission in a press release dated December 30 said, "The gram panchayat elections are open to all the political parties. But some TV channels are broadcasting the results as if the elections are being held with the support of a particular political party. This would send a wrong message to people."

"I request the concerned TV channels, newspapers and audio channels to not broadcast the results in this manner,” stated the secretary in the press release.
