Locals rescue two tourists from drowning at Kaup beach

Kaup, Jan 3: Locals rescued two youths of Mysuru and Mandya origin, who had come for weekend vacation, from drowning at the Kaup beach.

Rahul and Tejas had come to Kaup beach on Saturday January 2, along with their friends Parashivamurthy and Pavan Kumar. As they went deep into the sea, unaware of the dangers, they got entangled in a huge wave and started drowning.

Members of Kaup beach maintenance team and Beach rescue team blew the whistle and cautioned the youths. Two out of the four youths, started to swim towards the shore. However, Rahul and Tejas could not come and started drowning.

Prashant Karkera, beach maintenance in-charge and his associates Pratham, scuba diving experts Jackson and Pradeep Kumar got into the sea and rescued the youths.

The youths, who were exhausted, were given oxygen on the spot and also first aid.
