Puttur: Embarrassed at her pimples, ninth standard student commits suicide

Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Jan 4: Pimples might appear on one's face for various reasons including oily skin and hormonal changes. They are quite common which normally can be addressed with home remedies or prescription drugs with advice from dermatologists. A young girl here was so much overwhelmed by the presence of pimples on her face that she chose to get rid of them by committing suicide.

This tragic incident happened at Paltady in Puttur taluk, Dakshina Kannada district. Divya (15), a ninth standard student of Karnataka Public School, Keyyoor, left the world because of pimples.

It is said that Divya was very much distressed by the stubborn pimples which had appeared on her face. She reportedly was going through depression on account of them. She hanged herself at Gerugudde located within the limits of Bellare police station.

All she needed is a good face wash soap to get rid of pimples. Reason is not justified.

God gives life to humans. People disposes. People spend Crores of Rupees only to get life back. But many people don't value the life given by God.

Flavian mangalore Kuwait, yes we have to believe.Because nowadays young girls are so much aware of their beauty, beauty products and people who watch them. Some girls are making their life hell when such peimple or face is not like others. Then girls get frustrated .Parents advice will not be accepted. How many times we read in face books classmates write so bad about them.Sad this girl was not self sure and face them with I dont care policy. Many girls aim film stars or their idols.Pimples are mostly we see in teenager with a harmon change.Have to consult doctors .Sad she commited suicide.Heartfelt sympathy to the parents.May her soul rest in peace.

We need to educate our kids about such trivial issues. These hormonal related changes are temporary and there is nothing to worry about.

No.1 culprit - Indian TV channels. These channels are full of advertisements that show normal person to be white, spotless and having a pimple on the face to be taboo, followed by Hindi serials which show Indians to be milky white and beautiful all the time.

    Very sad. RIP kid.

There is a whatsapp forward where the famous actress Sai Pallavi speaks about pimples, how she learned to live with it and succeed in big screen in spite of having a face with pimples.
We should forward these kind of encouraging messages more so that it could reach everyone. If only Divya had seen the video, she could have gathered a bit of courage to live.
