Mangaluru, Jan 4: In an incident that occurred on the night of Sunday January 3, a gang of eight people, passengers in cars, attacked the toll gate personnel asking for a toll fee. The vehicles bearing registration numbers KA 47 M 2946 and KA 19 MD 7338, which belongs to Bhatkal in the district of Uttara Kannada.
The toll gate personnel has suffered a fracture on his arm due to the assault and is admitted to the hospital. They not only assaulted the person at the toll gate but also barged inside the toll booth and damaged furniture and equipment.
Though the personnel at the toll gate called 112 for help, the culprits escaped before the police could reach the spot. The whole incident of assault is captured on CCTV camera.
A complaint in this regard is registered at Surathkal police station.
