Mangaluru: Company replaces faulty TV after customer files complaint in consumer forum

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (EP)

Mangaluru, Jan 6: Soon after a customer lodged a complaint in the consumer forum against faulty TV he bought the concerned company replaced it with a brand new television.

The customer who is employed at a prestigious news media house in Mangaluru had purchased a new Panasonic TV from Reliance Digital in City Centre here. The television which was purchased at a cost of Rs 39,000 malfunctioned within 10 months.

The customer then lodged a complaint with Reliance Digital, who sent the TV to the concerned service centre. Meanwhile, the service centre maintained that the television set would be fixed within four days. However, even after a week, there was no response from the service centre. This led to the complainant dropping in several emails and calls and eventually sending a legal notice to Reliance Digital. He also lodged a complaint with the consumer forum.

Once the complaint was registered, Panasonic replaced the faulty TV with a brand new one.

Similar incident happened when I bought a new sofa set from a prestigious furniture shop at City Center Mall.
They came installed and then did not cleanup the unpacked materials ..They just left it outside my flat ..
I had to then threaten them and told them that I will make a viral video and tag all including PMO office tweet handle if they do not cleanup by the end of day ..
They acted swiftly after this threat of mine ..
I used English(Tharoor type english) as my medium of communication with the concerned officials of the shop ..probably that too helped

The way even Jio with Jio 2 qwerty sets manipulated customers is appalling. The customer service pretends yours in the first and the only faulty set while in fact thousands of mobile phones have been problematic. They don't care. Customer is treated as dirt or criminal. Daiji, please help the readers how to approach the consumer court easily so that customer becomes the victor and not the victim of these companies.

Japanese company also follow our age old saying "bisi yagadey bennay karagadu". Excellent sir you awakened a lot of people who are on the verge of "lost or going to loose their money". Don't worry go ahead and fight for justice. There is nothing wrong.

Sir, like every other place of justice before you raise your voice you should have some voice in your pocket or some influence vasta here and there. Did you read this "The customer who is employed at a prestigious news media house in Mangaluru". That is why the replacement is given otherwise 'Panasonic TV OR Reliance Digital in City Centre will tell you "come tomorrow, come after one week like that for the next 5 years".

People should be educated about approaching a consumer court. When people are educated with the same we will surely get good service and all sellers will be aware. Consumer protection is not given any importance in the country.
