Still Looking for Female Lead for 'Rockstar': Imtiaz Ali

New Delhi, Jun 10 (IANS): There were reports that Imtiaz Ali has finalised half Czech- half Pakistani model Nargis Fakhri for "Rockstar" opposite Ranbir Kapoor, but the director denied it saying he is still looking for the female lead.

"No, that's not true. We are still hunting for the female lead... I can't speak more on it now as I am really not talking about it right now," Ali, 38, told IANS.

Casually dressed in a white striped t-shirt and jeans, the director was looking his usual calm self when he was spotted by an IANS correspondent Wednesday at the Sheraton hotel here.

Although he is denying Nargis' presence in the cast, it won't be surprising if he ropes in a foreign face again after launching Brazillian model Giselle Monteiro in his last outing "Love Aaj Kal" opposite Saif Ali Khan.

According to reports, New York-based Nargis, 21, who featured in the 2009 Kingfisher swimsuit calendar, auditioned several times for the role of a dancer for Ali's film.

The three-film old director also confirmed that he is on a recce in the capital for right locations for his movie. He was recently spotted doing the same with Ranbir.

Co-produced by Eros International Media Ltd and Shri Ashtavinayak Cine Vision, the movie is said to be inspired by the lives of rockstars. It will most probably go on floors next month.
