GoAir sacks pilot over 'derogatory' tweet on PM

New Delhi, Jan 10 (IANS): Budget airline GoAir has sacked a pilot for posting derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Twitter.

The spokesperson of the airline also said that it does not associate itself with personal views expressed by any individual or an employee.

"GoAir has zero tolerance policy and it is mandatory for all GoAir employees to comply with the company's employment rules, regulations and policies, including social media behaviour," the spokesperson said.

"GoAir has terminated the services of the Captain with immediate effect," added the spokesperson.

The pilot later deleted the tweet and apologised for the same. He has also locked his Twitter account post the incident.

This is against Tejaswi Surya’s demand for social media to ban others any views publicly. PM should intervene to restore his job and take GoAir for task for going against govt policies. It’s BJP’s freedom of speech.

The company took action as per its rules and regulation. Every company has its own rules for their employees. So it is the fault of the captain to write in his social media. Why you bring Surya here.
When MVA or Didi in West Bengal took action on persons for commenting you were silent. Here it is the company took action not any Govt. That is the difference
