Karwar, Jan 19: A reporter from Uttara Kannada, Sheshagiri Mundalli, performed a rare Kayak sport in the Arabian Sea. Usually tourists get attracted to the sport in rivers.

He went to the Aligadda seashore alone on Sunday morning and embarked on a single Kayak continuing his journey in the deep sea. He ignored strong waves and reached the island of the lighthouse in an hour and twenty minutes.

Sheshagiri used to take part in sports activities whilst at school and as a college student. He was a champion in the cycle race at college. Journalists usually remain in the news. They rarely get rest. He forgot his work pressure and was successful at Kayaking in the sea.

Sheshagiri says that the achievement was possible due to cooperation from Karavali adventure’s Prakash Harikantra, district central working journalist’s association district president T B Harikanta, Vijayavani district reporter Subhash Dhoopadahonda and other journalists of Karwar.

Adventure activities has decreased among the youth these days. They spend their time on mobile phones. Sheshagiri drew the attention of young people to his achievement in the sea. Journalists in Karwar and friends in various places in the district congratulated Sheshagiri.
