Udupi: Innocent-looking aged couple master trick of stealing chicken

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Jan 25: An aged couple has mastered the art of stealing chicks. They look like beggars aimlessly seeking alms, but when they find that there is no one inside the house, they act quickly and with the sleight of hands, lap up poultry birds.

The couple rests leisurely in the courtyard when they find that there are some poultry birds around. They were seen offering seeds to the birds. As the chicks seemed to get familiar to them and come closer, they suddenly held them tight by their necks and twisted them and put the dead birds into their knapsack.

This scene has become viral in the social media. It happened at Mudarangady in Santhoor village near Kaup in Udupi district. The chick was stolen from the residence of Baby Poojarthi there. The act of the old couple was captured on a mobile phone by a woman.

I had witnessed this type of attracting chicks and catching them live during my school days. Only the technique is bit sophisticated. The robber used to throw wet doti over chicks and at one shot min. 2 to 3 birds trapped. Because of her sheer the chicks would not cluck. They remain motionless and soundless. Operation successful but robber was caught red handed and got good pasting from the boys around our neighbourhood.

You mean to say : Kuwaiti leader roamed the world shouting 'Make in Kuwait' 'Make in Kuwait' but ithe assurance remained only on paper ??

Don't you think by the volume it was promoted, India would have been in a position to give jobs to foreigners during Covid times than selling existing PSUs ?

Sheilesh Udipi,do you find good to steal someone else a poor man his bread ,because he seems "jobless"?People should bann such roaming around unknown people to sit in your courtyard and feed your chicken. The woman who recorded the stealing, what did she do ?Enjoyed what is going around?Or informed house owner?Terrible.what sort of people are moving around us.Tricky oldys.Next time when they come to you ,simply arrest them suppose they use this trick.Enjoy the stolen chicken later as sukka.

Kori kalva is a better term. This aged couple are perhaps driven out by their son and they have to beg, or ... do something ... to survive.

If he has strong hands to grab and twist a chickens neck, he has enough energy to do a decent days labour and earn some money instead of stealing someone else goods.
