Mangaluru, Jan 26: Police of Konaje station on the outskirts of the city arrested a youth on the accusation of attempting to rape a girl belonging to the Scheduled Tribe community.

Irshad (23), a resident of Panela, is the arrested accused.

It is alleged that he tried to rape the girl as she was returning home after finishing her day's work.

A case in this regard was registered at Konaje police station. The police apprehended the culprit on Tuesday January 26.
