Udupi, Jan 29: Udupi district Muslim Okkoota unanimously elected Ibrahim Saheb as the president for the next two years at the general body meeting held on January 28. He was the president of the Okkoota at Brahmavar taluk during the last two years. He had also served as president of the Jamiyatul Falah organization in the twin districts of Mangaluru and Udupi in the past and indulged in several social organizations.
District committee members were also elected at the meeting. Mohammed Yasin Malpe, Idris Hoode, Hussain Bengre, Iqbal S Katpadi, Mohammed Maula Udupi, Shaban Hangloor and Hassan Mavad Byndoor were elected at the central level. M P Moidinabba Padubidri, Aboobacker Najar, Shaikh Abdullatif Madani, M Shabbir Malpe, Khalid Manipura and Khamraddin M were elected representatives of other organizations.
Shaikh Salahuddin Abdulla, Abdul Azeez Udyavar, Khateeb Rashid Malpe, T M Rufulla Nejar, V S Umar Udupi, Kasim Barkur, Riaz Ahmed Kukkikatte and Iqbal Manna Nayar Kere were elected at taluk level from Udupi taluk.
BASF Rafik Gangolli, Riaz Kodi, Maulana Zameer Ahmed Rashadi, S S Hanif Gulvadi and Mohammed Muzavar from Kundapur and Shams Tabrez Nagoor, Manigar Jigri Shirur, Fayaz Ali Byndoor, Mohammed Siddik H S and Mansoor Ibrahim Navunda were elected from Byndoor.
Ashfak Ahmed Karkala, Mohammed Gouse Miyar, Mohammed Sharif Banglegudde, Nasir Shaikh Byloor, Abdul Samad Khan from Karkala, Ismael Hussain Katpadi, Anwar Ali Kaup, S P Umar Faruk, Shabhi Ahmed Khazi, Mohammed Iqbal from Kaup, Tajuddin Ibrahim Uppinakodte, Mohammed Asif, Iqbal Kunjalu, H A Rehman Hangarkatte and Haroon Rashid Sastan were elected from Brahmavar.
The meeting was held at Brahmavar City Center. Okkoota president, Yashin Malpe presided and gave guidance for elections. Chief secretary Mohammed Maula read the two years' report. Treasurer Iqbal S Katpadi tabled the accounts. The organising secretary, Ismael Hussain welcomed the gathering. Joint secretary Azeez Udyavar compered the programme.
