Bahrain, Jun 21: Kannada Sangha, Bahrain organized ‘Family Quiz 2010’ for members and their families, recently.
Kiran Upadhyay, entertainment secretary welcomed the gathering to the programme held at sangha premises. The team started with a humourous skit presentation based on the quiz programme. A short hymn was recited by Poornima Jagdish followed by the introduction of the team by the team leader.
The event was conducted by team Sharavathi under the leadership of Lolakshi Rajaram. The team members were Poornima Jagdish, Shanthi Pinto, Rajaram and Mohandas Rai.
There were totally nine teams consisting of five members each. Each team had two gentlemen, one lady and two children. At first, a written round for all the teams was carried out. Later, three teams participated at a time in five rounds. Audience questions drew great response and active participation, which made the show livelier. It was a pleasure to see the children participate in large numbers.
The team named Chamatkar under the leadership of Mohammed Abba emerged as the winner with highest number of points. The second place was won by team Deedar headed by Jagadish Jeppu There was a tie between team Anarkali under the leadership of Nagaraj Rao and team Badshah under the leadership of Manik Rao. Team Anarkali succeeded in breaking the tie and emerged the winner. Audiences were awarded with prizes for scoring highest number of points.
Mohammed Abba, Prabha Rao, Santhosh Prabhakar, Zubin and Divya Mijar were in the winners’ team. The team comprising Jagadish Jeppu, Jyothi Ruben, Gangadhar N B, Pradeep Pai and Jovita D’Silva were the first runners-up with team consisting of Nagaraj Rao, Chetana Hegde, Bhuvan, Srinivas Pai and Shifani emerging second runners-up.
Audience winners among gentlemen were Rajesh Shetty and Manik Rao, Sumana Manjeshwar and Prabha Rao were among the women winners. Children, Sufian Shafi and Siddharth Kiran too walked away with audience prizes.
The prizes were distributed to all the winners followed by the vote of thanks. The event sponsors Mohammed Abba, Prabha Rao, Rajaram and D Ramesh.
The whole event was very efficiently conducted by Lolakshi Rajaram and her team.
