Bantwal: People demand running of KSRTC buses for students

Daijiworld Media Network - Bantwal (SP)

Bantwal, Feb 3: More and more classes are being opened now, and students have begun to move around. However, because of the fact that KSRTC buses are not being run on required scale, the students are compelled to travel by hanging onto the buses with some foothold on the footboards.

The families always have the fear of corona in the back of their minds when sending children to schools. Now the fear of buses has occupied their minds. Before the onset of coronavirus infection, there were sufficient buses between Vittal and Alike. Now they are compelled to travel by available buses. As the people and students together flock the buses at the same time, there is a shortage of space. Students who are afraid to travel on footboard are compelled to walk all the way to school via Padibagilu.

As already a lot of time is lost out of the academic year, the parents are afraid that the future of their children will be in jeopardy if enough buses are not run.

There is fear in the minds of children to travel by footboard as a girl student fell and got injured at Padibagilu when travelling on the footboard. Three days back, a woman was thrown out of the bus and suffered injuries. A local has suggested diverting Mitthanadka-Padyana bus from 'Vittal to Alike via Bairikatte as that bus is always empty.
