Karkala, Feb 3: Karkala rural police station sub-inspector Thejaswi T I and staff have found beef that was illegally stored in packets for sale at Durga village. The police personnel on receiving definite information of the beef being sold at Stellar Asia Manzil, Durga village, visited the spot.
Asiya, the lady in the house disclosed that her husband Sayyed Jaleel and son Afreez have cut a cow and the beef was packed in plastic packets for sale. The accused who came to know that police personnel are approaching fled the scene. The accused had stolen a cow from an unidentified place and butchered it.
A case under crime serial no. 18/2021 IPC section 379 subsection 4, 7, 9, Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Preservation of Animal Act 1964, Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960 and section 4, 12 Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Bill 2020 is registered in Karkala rural police station.
