Mangaluru: Rudolph Vinod Joyer Noronha receives PhD from Tumkur University

Mangaluru, Feb 5: Rudolph Vinod Joyer Noronha, general manager (Corporate Communications) at Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), has been awarded with PhD degree by department of Studies and Research in History and Archaeology, Tumkur University.

Rudolph was awarded the doctorate for his thesis ‘The History of Science and Technology in Tulunadu during the colonial period’. He had undertaken research under the guidance of Prof U S Moorthi.

He hails from Kinnigoli and has a degree in mechanical engineering. He loves learning languages and has studied the basics of Portuguese, French and Prakrit.

Speaking to daijiworld.com, Rudolph said, "I took seven years to complete my research. I completed my engineering from NITTE. Later, I did my masters in history. Then I did a PhD. Right from my childhood, I am passionate about subjects revolving around history, philosophy and literature. I have dedicated my leisure time in reading these subjects.”
