Udupi, Feb 5: District police continued their operation against those who sell drugs and arrested three persons, confiscated eight kg of ganja and an auto rickshaw that was used to transport the same.

Acting upon definite information, Manipal police confiscated the ganja, which is worth Rs 2,66,000. The arrested were trying to sell ganja at a public place near Shimbra bridge in an auto rickshaw bearing registration number KA 20 C 3042. The arrested accused are identified as Gautam Raju Shimunge of Maharashtra origin, Jeswinder Singh of Punjab and Krishna Jalagar of Kolalagiri, Brahmavar.

This operation was carried out under the guidance of SP Vishnuvardhana and led by additional SP Kumarachandra and Sudhakar Nayak DySP.

Manjunath M Gowda, police inspector Manipal, Santhosh Kaykini, CPI, Byndoor, personnel of Manipal police station probationary PSI Devaraj Siddanna Biradar and Aminsaab Maulasaab Attar, ASI Shailesh, head constables Dayakar Prasad, Vishwajit, Naveen, Abdul Rajak, PCs Santhosh HT, Revana Siddappa, Lokesh, Adarsh Byndoor, personnel of Byndoor circle Chandra, Ashok, Naveen and Guruprasad took part in the operation.

Police informed that the operation against drug menace will continue in the coming days also. Mangaluru range IGP Devajyothi Rai has appreciated the team that took part in the operation.
