Beltangady: Gas leakage from tanker - Traffic stopped for three hours

Beltangady, Feb 5: Traffic got affected on Shiradi Ghat on the morning of Friday February 5 as gas started leaking from gas tanker belonging to Indian Oil Corporation.

The gas tanker was moving from Mangaluru to Bengaluru. The gas leakage was noticed at around 10 am on Friday at Kempuhole on Shiradi Ghat, which falls under the limits of Hassan district police. Police acted swiftly and stopped traffic at Gundya and made alternate arrangements for the vehicles to travel through Sampaje-Madikeri or Beltangady-Charmadi routes.

Traffic was affected from 11 am to 2 pm on Shiradi Ghat. Now the leakage is successfully arrested and traffic is restored back to normalcy.
