Bengaluru, Feb 5: The Karnataka Legislative Assembly, which met for seven days, adjourned sine die on Friday.
However, the Legislative Council would hold a session till February 10 for electing a new chairman as Congressman K Pratapchandra Shetty resigned from the post on Thursday. The House will also discuss the pending bills.
Under the recent tie-up with opposition JD(S), the ruling BJP has secured the deputy chairman’s post with Pranesh getting elected. Senior JD(S) leader Basavaraj Horatti is set to become the Council chairman as per the pact.
Assembly Speaker Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri informed the House that 14 bills were passed during the session.
A debate on one nation-one poll would be conducted during the budget session in March.
Before the presentation of the budget, the house would discuss one nation-one poll theme for two days, he said.
The Speaker has appealed to all members to come prepared for the discussion.
A one-day seminar on declining of values of the parliamentary system would be held on February 24 at Banquet Hall of the Vidhana Soudha.
Experts, eminent parliamentarians, journalists and legislators would be invited for the seminar, he said.
