Mangaluru, Feb 6: In connection with reports which claimed that out of three cars which were impounded by the city crime branch police here relating to case of financial irregularities registered against three persons from Kerala going missing, it is said, deputy commissioner of police Vinay A Gaonkar has filed preliminary report with the police commissioner.
Sources claim that the two cars which were with the police for long, were recently handed over to the concerned in a hurry. It is being claimed that the third luxury car was sold to some people form Bengaluru and the investigating officer is yet to get doumentary proof about the person who has acquired that car.
After a woman complained about a firm which promised high returns on investments and then failed to repay the invested money, the assistant commissioner of police was in charge of investigation, it is said. There was suspicion that the police had sold one of the three cars belonging to the accused and were seized. High level officials in the state have asked the police officials here to undertake investigation in all seriousnes, it is learnt.
