Mangaluru: Transgender becomes Youth Congress general secretary for first time

Mangaluru, Feb 6: Sanjana Chalawadi, a beautician by profession, has been chosen as the city south block Youth Congress general secretary. She happens to be the first transgender from Dakshina Kannada dsitrict to make it to this position.

Youth Congress elections were held online on January 10, 11 and 12. The results have been announced. Shiva has been chosen as president while Sohan and Deekshit Poojary are the vice presidents. Sanjana Chalawadi is the general secretary of the city south block.

Sanjana said that she was elated after having been informed by the party president that she has been elected as the general secretary of the Congress city south block. She said she has completed the beautician course and currently working as a beautician. She said she is thankful to everyone for the help and support extended to her.

    Govt should take care of all Transgender people by providing Education and Jobs. I had full hopes on BJP govt but nothing has been done so far and some people are still begging . All the best Congress - Good Job
