Bengaluru: 'No interference in administration' - BJP state vice president B Y Vijayendra

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Feb 7: BJP state vice president B Y Vijayendra said that he is giving priority to organize the party with the intention of winning 150 seats in the next assembly elections and not interfering in the matters related to the state BJP government.

Vijayendra further said, "I am not interfering in anyone's power just because I am the son of chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa. If there is any proof to this effect, let the concerned show it to the press. BJP has kept faith on me given me the responsibility of organizing the party. It is my duty to honour their faith in me.

"It was a challenge to win the by elections of K R Pete in Mandya and Shira by organizing the party from grassroot level. It is a wrong notion that elections can be won on the basis of casteism and money. It is not possible to win elections by distributing money to voters in the state of Karnataka. It is also difficult to win the elections by appeasing any one community. We have achieved victory in both K R Pete and Shira by taking into confidence all the communities. Now the party has given the responsibility of the Maski bye election. There also we have to do hard work in order to win.

"I thought of not entering politics at all. However, certain political developments that took place during the tenure of the earlier Congress government hurt my mind. So I took them as a challenge and entered politics. There is no question of looking back. Yediyurappa has struggled for 40 years to bring BJP into power in the state.

"Leaders of central BJP leadership do not have any resentment with respect to the state BJP government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, union home minister Amit Shah and national BJP president J P Nadda stress on development.

"There is no misunderstanding of any sort between state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel and CM Yediyurappa. Nalin is touring the state in order to organize the party. He cooperates with the CM in all aspects.

"Image of the government and party gets battered due to the unhealthy developments in the party during the expansion of cabinet and portfolio distribution. Ultimately the party will suffer due to the ego problem of party members. It will have an impact on the next elections. Lacs of party workers are working hard for the party without any power or position. If the party does not govern properly when in power, it will be a great loss,” he said.
