Daijiworld Media Network - Moodbidri (MS)

Moodbidri, Feb 7: "I have not made a mistake deliberately. I think that there is forgiveness for my wrong doing,” said BJP leader K P Jagadish Adhikari tendering apology over the objectionable words he spoke about Koti-Chennayya, revered Daivas of Tulunadu and former union minister and senior politician B Janardhana Poojary.

The video of Adhikari's statement about Koti-Chennayya and Poojary went viral on social media and netizens expressed their rage and asked him to tender unconditional apology.

Speaking at a press conference on Saturday February 7, Adhikari said, "Janardhana Poojary is my political guru. The Billava community is my heart. I said something incorrectly without thinking. I am also an ardent devotee of Daivas. I also adore Koti-Chennayya along with Panchashakti. Among the Garadis of the district Garadi of my family's elders is also there.

"I will offer Tappu Kanike in the Moola Kshetra of the twin warriors. I will offer prayer and Sankramana Parva to the Daivas for the mistake I have committed. This issue should be finished here itself.

"I have visited the house of Poojary and enquired about his well-being. He is the strength of this nation. I do not have the capability of even a strand of his hair. In case, if this issue continues, I may even take retirement from politics. I am ready to sacrifice nation and body for this reason. But I wish to die in this country, where I am born. We have the legal right of opting for Sallekhana Vrata in our Jain community. I have not committed this mistake intentionally.

"If my action has embarrassed my party, I will be neutral. I am ready to even quit the party. If anyone files a complaint with the police in this regard, I will cooperate completely with the investigation,” he said.

In the meantime, district BJP president Sudarshan has served notice to Adhikari to tender an apology to the Billava community. In the notice served to Adhikari, Sudarshan said, "BJP will not tolerate insulting talks about historical personalities, leaders of a particular community or derogatory speech against any particular religion. BJP condemns your act. I am hereby instructing you to give a clarification in this regard as soon as possible and also seek apology from the Billava community."

Typical Jokara syndrome..., dombarata at its best..., to substantiate the scenario...let me quote in toto "....I said something incorrectly without thinking", means... one must ascertain what is there inside the scull of the leader who conveniently choose to tender apology ..., nothing but an act of political connivance...!!!! Jokara & cheddi gang must remember that ..., Billava's are not illiterates...., Tappu kanike must be honored by naming M 'lore Airport with the name of KOTI CHENNIAH... chai time...,

This is BJP policy to give unnecesary statement to create trouble in society and say sorry after that. Jagdish made this statement intentionally and with approval of higher authorities. He should be jailed and banned from participation in politics forever. This will be the right punishment for hate monger politicians. .

As I know Jagadish Adhikari very well, I don't think that he has said this intentionally. Everybody makes mistake. Since, he has asked apology, people should forget his mistake.

There was no need for these guys to blow this issue out of proportion. Mr. Adhikari is a very good human being and he believes in good karma. So I don't think it is fair to blame him for things he has said my mistake. Who does not make mistakes in public lives? Every politician does this kind of mistakes, so what's the heck...Why signal him only?
