Kasargod, Feb 8: One person died and four others sustained injuries in hit-and-run accident between a car and a lorry on the national highway at Shiriya near here on Monday, February 8.
The deceased has been identified as Saidali Ibrahim (64), a resident of Muttam.
Khader (54), a resident of Shiriya Kadappura who was driving the car, Ibrahim's daughter-in-law Aishath Tahira (39), her children Nida Sadiya (10) and Shihabuddin (13) sustained injuries and have been admitted to hospital.

It is learnt that the family was travelling to Payannur to apply for passports when the accident took place.
The lorry that smashed into the car dragged the latter for nearly 200 metres and sped off without stopping.
Sources said that the police have already traced the lorry to Kasargod and taken it into their possession.
