Former Supermodel Viveka Babajee Commits Suicide

Mumbai, Jun 26 (IANS): Viveka Babajee, a former Indian supermodel, committed suicide by hanging herself at her Bandra residence late Friday night, a family friend said.

Confirming the suicide, Additional Commissioner of Police (Western Region) Amitabh Gupta said the reason behind Viveka taking the extreme step was not known and police were investigating.

Fashion designer Rohit Verma said she was supposed to take part in his fashion show next month and he was shocked to hear the news of her death.

Viveka, 32, was declared a supermodel in 1994 and was one of the most-sought after faces nationally and internationally in the fashion world.

    What a sad and painful news to read!

    Those people who have never
    experienced the pain of severe
    depression, and the total despondencey followed by depression
    can't understand the real
    predicament of a depressed person.

    I am telling my personal story
    because some of the readers can
    relate to my story.

    When I took medications for
    depression a few years back while
    I was undergoing a great financial
    crisis, I took a knife early in
    the morning to kill myself. But
    while holding the knife, I simply
    called God " God help me now", and
    I got outside the house and threw
    the knife away. Many people have
    committed suicide while taking
    anti-depressant medications.

    Perhaps, since women are more
    light-hearted, when they feel
    so hopeless in life, they can't
    think anything rationally and will
    finish the life.

    Recently, Hulk Hogan (professional
    wrestler) told his story in a
    nationwide T.V. broadcast that
    he took the revolver to kill
    himself, but at the nick of the
    moment, one of his friends called
    him, and his mind was changed not to kill himself. When people feel
    totally at the edge, they will
    do anything to end the misery of
    painful hopelessness of life.

    So watch for our friends and
    relatives who are faced with
    critical personal problems in life.

    u should have lived for yoursef, why did u committed sucide, two days relative will remember and forget u n yr memories, In life never commit sucide. people committing suicides r fool..those who r planning to commit suicide please stop it. may ur soul rest in peace...

    End of Fashion world... is SUICIDE.. someone will catch the height of success somebody will fall in between.. and the result will come up with suicide.
    why now a days young generation follow the fashion world.?? Its the place where people go wrong with money, sex, drugs & drinking.. and other external links.. here skin values not moral..

    Very sad to know that gorgeous model who shot to fame with Kama-Sutra condom advertisment in 1990 committed suicide.It is learnt that breaking up with her boyfriend is a reason for suicide.Many models took such a drastic step after breaking up with their partners recently. It reminds me of Madhur Bhandarkar's film "FASHION" where he reveals the real truth of Fashion/models world. Money..Fame..Drugs..Boyfriends..Lonliness..Suicide.Models have to have strong will power to overcome all problems.

    I feel very sorry for her. One should realise beauty/fame does not stay for ever. And when u r young & good looking people will write poems on you & when u are getting old people will write poems on younger people.. You should keep your self composed at the time of rais & fall... RIP
