Bengaluru, Feb 9: KPSC has taken action against 12 candidates for malpractices during the second division assistant’s (SDA) competitive examination held in 2019.

Over 12 candidates including Ambresh, Shankar Gowda, Siddarama, Priyanka Kadam and Nikita Khalal have been debarred for three years.

Criminal cases have been registered against the guilty candidates. Two of them have been fined Rs 1,000 each.

Some candidates who appeared for the examination were found to be under the influence of alcohol. Some of them had fake passes. Some were caught copying through Bluetooth. Some others had taken away their answer scripts without giving them to the supervisors.

Violations by 12 candidates adopting wrongful means for recruitment were proved after thorough investigation.

Investigation officer and officers authorized to take action against the guilty candidates had scrutinized the explanations provided to the police by the candidates, verified the facts and had submitted a report in November last year. The order to debar them has been issued after verifying the same.
