Bantwal, Feb 9: MESCOM Bantwal subdivision officials and staff have supplied electricity free of cost to 13 houses in two of the scheduled caste and scheduled tribe colonies in Maninalkur and Sarapady.
The houses have been deprived of electricity for some time. The cost of electric connections at the rate of Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,000 were borne personally by MESCOM officials and staff under the guidance of MESOM engineer Manjappa. Electrical contractor Rama Electricals installed electrical wiring free of charge. The kind gesture brought joy on the faces of the residents.
They were grateful to the MLA, MESCOM officials, staff and contractors. MLA Rajesh Naik congratulated the MESCOM officials, staff and contractors for their noble act.

Contractor, Devadas, Devappa Poojary, Dombayya, Arala, Sudarshan Baja, Ramanath Rai, Ramakrishna Mayya, Purushotham Poojary, Dhananjay Shetty, Chidananda Rai, Abhishek Poojary, Dinesh Gowda, Umesh and others were present.
